Tigers LF Boesch leaves with thumb injury

Tigers left fielder Brennan Boesch exited Wednesday's game against the Indians after aggravating his right thumb sprain.

Boesch, who struck out swinging in the first inning, was replaced in the field in the bottom of the second by Don Kelly and taken for precautionary X-rays.

Boesch is batting .285 this season with 16 homers, 54 RBI and a .344 on-base percentage.
