CHICAGO - Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane had surgery to repair a broken bone in his left wrist.
Team physician Dr. Michael Terry says in a statement Tuesday that the operation to repair a scaphoid fracture in the right wing's left wrist "went well" and a full recovery is expected.
Terry says Kane will start "modified" workouts shortly and resume full activity in six-to-eight weeks.
The Blackhawks disclosed the injury last week, saying it was discovered recently during off-season training. Kane was second on the team last season behind Jonathan Toews with 73 points, including 27 goals.
