The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Kevin Porter and defenseman Ryan Wilson to one-year contracts on Saturday.

Porter, 25, had a career year last season, playing in 74 games and scoring 14 goals and 25 points. He scored 3 game-winning goals, tied for second most on the team. Porter, the No. 119 pick in the 2004 Entry Draft, was obtained by Colorado in 2010. He is the holder of the 2008 Hobey Baker Award.

Wilson, 24, appeared in 67 games for the Avalanche this past season, registering 16 points. He was third on the team in both hits (135) and blocked shots (110).  Wilson’s 67 games played were the second-highest total of any Colorado defenseman in 2010-11.

Acquired from Calgary on March 4, 2009, Wilson recorded 21 points (3g/18a) and was +13 in 61 games as a rookie for the Avalanche in 2009-10.

"We are pleased to have both Kevin and Ryan under contract,” said GM Greg Sherman.  "We look forward to seeing them at training camp.”
