The San Jose Sharks re-signed forward Benn Ferriero to a one-year contract Friday and also agreed to terms with forward Ben Guite on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ferriero, 24, posted 5 goals and 9 points in 33 games for San Jose this past season. He also played in eight postseason games and had the overtime winner in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Detroit.

In 43 games with Worcester, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Ferriero notched 16 goals and 33 points. 

Guite, 32, served as captain of Springfield (AHL) and finished second in points (17-30-47) and tied for first in plus/minus (plus-12) in 72 games played.

The right-handed forward has spent time with Boston, Colorado and Nashville, accumulating 19 goals and 45 points in 175 career regular season NHL games. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Montreal, Quebec was originally selected by the Canadiens in the seventh round of the 1997 Entry Draft.
