VANCOUVER - Sami Salo is staying on with the Vancouver Canucks.
The veteran defenceman agreed to a US$2-million, one-year extension prior to becoming a restricted free agent.
Salo has spent the last eight seasons with Vancouver.
He endured another injury-plagued campaign last season and finished with 10 points (3-7) in 27 regular-season games.
In 692 career NHL games for Ottawa and Vancouver, Salo has 84 goals and 280 points.
