Sporting Kansas City played to a scoreless draw with the Chicago Fire in its home opener at the new Livestrong Sporting Park on Thursday night.

Kansas City (1-6-4), which opened the season with 10 road games, had a draw for the third straight time and has not won since a season-opening 3-2 victory at Chivas USA.

Chicago (1-4-8) also recorded its third straight tie and is winless in 11 straight since beating Sporting 3-2 at home on March 26.

The Fire had a chance to win it late when backup Sporting goalkeeper Eric Kronberg misplayed Dan Paladini's shot, but Orr Barouch's point-blank putback hit the crossbar.

Sporting's best chance came in the 15th minute, when Graham Zusi put a shot past Sean Johnson from 8 yards but was ruled offside.
