GLENDALE, Ariz. - The negotiating rights of goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov have been traded by the Coyotes to the Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix general manager Don Maloney announced Tuesday.

In return, the Coyotes get Philadelphia's third round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, future considerations and forward Matt Clackson, whose contract will expire on June 30.

Bryzgalov becomes a free agent July 1.

"After several discussions with Ilya and his agent, it became very clear to us that we were not in a position to sign Ilya to a long-term contract," said Maloney. "We will now focus our efforts on adding another goaltender to our roster for the upcoming season."
