Attorneys for Frank McCourt have filed notice to appeal the ruling that determined the Dodgers are jointly owned by him and his ex-wife.

The notice was filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, but the case will be heard by a state appeals court. It states attorneys will challenge several rulings made by Judge Scott Gordon against Frank McCourt.

Jamie McCourt's attorneys declined to comment.

Gordon in December threw out an agreement the couple signed after buying the Dodgers in 2004 that gave Frank McCourt sole ownership of the team. The ruling cleared the way for Jamie McCourt to seek half of one of baseball's most storied franchises.

The couple is locked in a court battle since she filed to divorce her husband of 30 years in October 2009.
