NEW YORK (Reuters) - San Jose Sharks center Logan Couture, New York Islanders winger Michael Grabner and Carolina Hurricanes center Jeff Skinner have been named finalists for rookie of the year, the NHL said on Tuesday.

The winner of the Calder Trophy for top rookie will be announced June 22 at the NHL Awards in Las Vegas.

Skinner, 18, led all rookies with 63 points as the league's youngest player. He finished the regular season with 31 goals and 32 assists in 82 games for the Hurricanes.

Grabner, 23, did not start the season with the Islanders but ended it as the team's goals leader with 34, including a six-game goal streak in February that matched the longest by any player all season. His 52 points was third among rookies.
