J.P. Primm scored 19 points and Matt Dickey added 18 as North Carolina-Asheville defeated High Point 62-45 on Thursday night in the semifinals of the Big South Conference tournament.

The third-seeded Bulldogs (18-13), who have won five straight games, knocked out the seventh-seeded Panthers (12-19) for the second year in a row.

Holding a 35-33 lead early in the second half, UNC Asheville went on a 14-0 run to pull away.

High Point, which split the season series with the Bulldogs, lost six of its last eight games.

The Panthers led 19-9 with 9:02 left in the first half, but UNC Asheville switched to a zone defense and went on a 17-3 run to pull ahead, taking a 28-26 lead into the break.

High Point tied it on an Earnest Bridges layup to open the second half, then Primm answered with one of his five 3-pointers.

Nick Barbour led the Panthers with 21 points.
