Jasmine Thomas had 18 points, five rebounds and five assists, leading No. 9 Duke to a 71-48 victory against Virginia on Thursday night.

The Blue Devils (25-3, 11-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) held Virginia without a field goal for almost 16 minutes in the first half. The Cavaliers (15-14, 4-9) shot 20 percent (13 for 65) from the field for the game.

Tricia Liston made four 3-pointers and finished with 16 points for Duke, which committed 23 turnovers but outrebounded Virginia 55-37.

The Cavaliers opened the second half with a 12-3 surge to close to 37-28, but never got any closer.

Ataira Franklin led Virginia with 15 points and Ariana Moorer had 14.
