DENVER (Reuters) - Colorado Avalanche All-Star forward Matt Duchene, the team's leading scorer, will be sidelined indefinitely due to a hand injury, the team said Wednesday.

Duchene, 20, suffered the injury during a 9-1 loss to the Calgary Flames on Monday.

The second-year center has 21 goals and 47 points for the Avalanche, who have lost 280 man-games due to injury, the highest total in the Western Conference and third most in the league.

Colorado, riding an eight-game losing streak, has a 25-26-6 record and sits in 14th place in the 15-team West.
