Jared Mintz scored 19 points and Lafayette defeated Colgate 80-65 Wednesday night for its third win in four games.

The Leopards took the lead for good on Ben Wheeler's 3-pointer with 12:47 left in the first half. That made it 14-11, and Lafayette expanded the lead to 16 by halftime, 41-25.

The Leopards (10-14, 5-4 Patriot League) built the lead to 25 points in the second half as Levi Giese scored two of his 11 points on a layup to make it 62-37 with 12:02 to play.

The Raiders (6-18, 3-6) cut the deficit to 13 points inside the final minute, but never came closer.

Rob Delaney had 13 points and Jim Mower scored 10 for Lafayette, which shot 56.3 percent from the field (27 of 48).

Mitch Rolls had 12 to lead Colgate, which could not prevent its two-game win streak from ending.
