Semin agrees to one-year extension with the Capitals

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Left wing Alexander Semin has signed a one-year contract extension with the Washington Capitals, the NHL team said Thursday.

Financial terms were not announced by the team, but the league's official website (www.nhl.com) reported the deal was worth $6.7 million.

Semin, 26, ranks second in goals (18) and third in points (35) with the Capitals. He shares the NHL lead in hat tricks with three.
