Tyrone Hanson scored 20 points as Jackson State routed Alcorn State 90-64 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game Saturday night.

Jenirro Bush and De'Suan Dixon each added 16 points for the Tigers (7-8, 3-0). Dixon also had 12 rebounds as Jackson State won the rebounding battle 48-32.

Marquis Baker scored 16 points to lead the Braves (0-13, 0-3), who were held to 32.3-percent field-goal shooting in the first half and went into the intermission trailing 44-33.

Shaunvanta Ingram added 12 points and Ian Francis added 10 points for the Braves, and though their shooting improved in the second half (10 of 25 for 40 percent), they fell further behind.

The Tigers were effective from long range, making 11 of 22 from 3-point territory. Hanson led that effort, making 6 of 8 beyond the arc and 7 of 10 field goals overall.
