Vlad Moldoveanu scored 24 points and Troy Brewer added 19 to lead American to a 77-67 victory over Brown Monday night.

Daniel Munoz added six assists and steadied an offense that committed a season-low five turnovers, including just one after halftime, as American (10-5) won its third straight.

Garrett Leffelman scored 12 points and Peter Sullivan scored 11 for Brown (4-7), which lost its third straight road contest and fourth out of five overall.

Dockery Walker added 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Bears, who led 38-37 early in the second half but faded down the stretch.

American, which hadn't played at home since a 64-62 loss to Columbia on Nov. 28, evened its record to 1-1 against Ivy League opponents.

Brown, which lost 76-68 at home to the Eagles last year, is 0-2 against the Patriot League after an 88-86 loss to Army on Dec. 21.
