Yankees out of running for Cliff Lee

NEW YORK – A person familiar with the negotiations says the New York Yankees are out of the running for Cliff Lee.

The Yankees were called late Monday night by agent Darek Braunecker and told Lee "was going in a different direction," the person said on condition of anonymity because the Yankees didn't make any announcements.
