African champion TP Mazembe reached the semifinals of the Club World Cup with a 1-0 win over Mexico's Pachuca on Friday night as Mbeza Bed scored in the 21st minute.

The Congo team will play Brazil's Internacional, the Copa Libertadores champion, on Tuesday. Last year, Mazembe lost to South Korea's Pohang Steelers in the quarterfinals.

American midfielder Jose Francisco Torres started and played until the 72nd minute for Pachuca, winner of the CONCACAF Champions League. American forward Herculez Gomez entered in the 73rd.

Al Wahda of the United Arab Emirates or Seongnam of South Korea plays European champion Inter Milan in the other semifinal.
