ATLANTA (Reuters) - Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson will be sidelined for four to six weeks after he undergoes elbow surgery this week, the NBA team said.

"This is something that clearly had to be looked at," Hawks coach Larry Drew told reporters. "As of yesterday, he could not extend his arm."

Johnson is the Hawks' leading scorer, averaging 17.1 points.
