Bengals shut down injured defensive lineman Tank Johnson

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Cincinnati Bengals have signed cornerback Fred Bennett after defensive tackle Tank Johnson was ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury, the NFL club said on Tuesday.

Seven-year veteran Johnson sustained the injury on October 31 against the Miami Dolphins after starting in the first seven games of the season.

Bennett is a fourth-year professional who spent the first four games of the season with the San Diego Chargers before being released.
