CALGARY, Alberta – Miikka Kiprusoff made 21 saves, and Curtis Glencross scored a short-handed goal in the Calgary Flames' 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday night.
Craig Conroy and Niklas Hagman also scored to help the Flames rebound from a 4-0 season-opening loss at Edmonton on Thursday night.
Dustin Brown scored for Los Angeles, coming off a 2-1 shootout victory Saturday night in Vancouver.
Glencross opened the scoring at 11:31 of the second period. Kings defenseman Jack Johnson mishandled the puck at the Flames' blue line and Brett Sutter banged it off the boards and softly down the ice.
Glencross collected the puck deep in the Kings' zone and cut to the front of the net, where he eluded goalie Jonathan Bernier's poke check and slid in a backhand.
Calgary made it 2-0 at 1:20 of the third period when Conroy used Davis Drewiske as a screen and picked the top corner with a 40-foot snap shot.
Brown scored for the Kings at 14:06 of the third period, deflecting in Anze Kopitar's shot.
Hagman then scored into an empty net with 23 seconds left.
