TEGUCIGALPA - Wilson Palacios and Hendry Thomas, two of the emblematic figures of the Honduran national team, will not be on hand for upcoming October friendlies against New Zealand and Guatemala.
Palacios and Thomas were excuded coach Juan Castillo because of injuries. The proper mediac papers were filed by their clubs, confirmed the Honduran Football Federation. Palacios and Thomas play for Tottenham and Wigan, respectively, in the English Premier League. The reason was also given for the exclusion of Emilio Izaguirre, who plays with Celtic in the Scotland Premeirship.
Castillo confirmed that their places in the roster will not be filled.
The will gather on Monday at a hotel in Tegucigalpa to travel to New Zealand on Tuesday.
From the list of the 23 players selected to the national squad, eleven participated in this year's World Cup.
