NEW YORK (AP) — Philadelphia Phillies manager Charlie Manuel has been suspended for one game for making contact with an umpire.

Major League Baseball announced Thursday that Manuel was scheduled to miss that night's game at Pittsburgh and was fined an undisclosed amount.

Manuel was ejected in the top of the 10th inning during Tuesday's 9-6 victory over the Reds in Cincinnati. Manuel was arguing balls and strikes during the winning rally. C.B. Bucknor motioned that Manuel bumped his forehead with the brim of his cap while he complained.
