MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Timberwolves have chosen Syracuse forward Wesley Johnson with the fourth overall pick in the NBA draft.

Johnson was a first-team All-American last season for the Orange. The Wolves have said all along they desperately need dynamic wing players and Johnson seems to fit that mold with his outside shooting and rebounding abilities.

Johnson will be reunited with Syracuse alum and point guard Jonny Flynn in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves also have pick Nos. 16 and 23 in the first round. They also could use some help at center and chose Johnson over Kentucky big man DeMarcus Cousins, who went to Sacramento right after Johnson.
