Tlusty, 22, was acquired from Toronto on Dec. 3, 2009, in exchange for the rights to center Philippe Paradis. After going scoreless in two appearances with the Maple Leafs, Tlusty scored a goal and 5 assists in 18 games with the Hurricanes following the trade. The Slany, Czech Republic, native also played in 39 AHL games last season, scoring 14 goals and 16 assists with the Toronto Marlies and the Albany River Rats.
In 92 career NHL games, Tlusty has 11 goals and 15 assists.
