OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The NCAA says it is fine with a United Football League team using Omaha's new downtown stadium next year.

NCAA vice president of football and baseball Dennis Poppe said Friday that TD Ameritrade Park's turf consultant assured him that football games in the fall wouldn't adversely affect the grass for the College World Series each June.

The UFL two weeks ago announced its plans to come to Omaha. The team will play at Rosenblatt Stadium this fall while the downtown stadium is built.

The UFL's lease requires it to pay for the installation and removal of sod over the infield during football season.
