LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Anaheim Ducks have signed netminder Jonas Hiller to a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the NHL team through the 2013-14 season, the Ducks said on Saturday.
Local media said the deal is worth $18 million to the Swiss Olympian, 27, who has compiled a 21-15-1 record with a 2.75 goals against average in 39 appearances this year.
"Jonas has proved himself as a starting NHL goaltender," Ducks general manager Bob Murray said in a statement on the team's website (http://ducks.nhl.com). "We expect him to only get better and are pleased he's committed to us for four more seasons."
