Garry Shandling's Brentwood, CA, home sold in mid-August for $10.65 million, says the Los Angeles Times. The comic, who lived in the home for more than 20 years, was residing there at the time of his death in March.

The 6,076-square-foot home, built in 1992, includes five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a living room with vaulted ceiling, central atrium, and a master suite with his-and-her bathrooms. The closing price on the Shandling estate ranks fourth in homes sold in the 90049 ZIP code over the past six months. It was topped by the April sale of a $19.7 million home a couple of miles away.

The house sits on just over an acre of land with a courtyard, pool, and most importantly, outdoor basketball court where Shandling hosted weekly pickup games with writers, comedians, and assorted creative types. Here's a picture that director Judd Apatow posted of a final gathering in Shandling's backyard:

Easily recognizable are a number of comedians, including Richard Lewis, Kathy Griffin, Kevin Nealon, and, of course, Apatow.

Shandling was a brilliant standup comedian who parlayed his particular brand of humor into two groundbreaking TV shows: "It's Garry Shandling's Show" and "The Larry Sanders Show." The comedian died in March. He was 66.
