Curt Schilling has worn many hats: legendary pitcher, failed businessman, thought-provoking meme sharer, evolution expert, and currently suspended ESPN baseball commentator. One hat he's missing is that of successful home seller. He's put his Medfield, MA, home up for sale again for $2.35 million.
"It's extremely private; it's its own retreat," listing agent Bridget Graham says of the 26-acre property.
If the story of Schilling's attempt to peddle his pad sounds familiar, it's because the estate was pending sale just last year -- but it didn't close. Graham wasn't the listing agent at the time and doesn't know the details surrounding the failed sale.
The three-story house has 20 rooms, including a library, wine cellar, panic room, media room, exercise room, and sauna. Outside there's a professional batting cage, putting green, pool, and sport court.
The home has seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and four fireplaces. A nautilus-shaped staircase stretches to the top floor, which features a private deck.
Schilling isn't the only sporting legend to have lived in this mansion, which he bought in 2004 for $4.5 million. It was built for former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe in 1997. Apparently Bledsoe has also been trying to sell his luxury mansion in Oregon for almost two years.
The outspoken Schilling was recently suspended from ESPN commentary after retweeting an image comparing Muslims to Nazis.
