In preparation for his move to the big city to coach the Chicago Bulls, former Iowa State basketball coach Fred Hoiberg is selling his former home in Ames, IA.

The five-bedroom home, which is listed for $1,173,000, sits on a wooded 2-acre lot northeast of the city, off South Skunk Creek, and a short distance from the fishermen-friendly Peterson Park recreation area.

Hoiberg signed a contract to coach the Bulls in June after five successful seasons at Iowa State. In 2012, he led his alma mater to its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2005. He then became the fastest coach to reach 100 wins in school history during the 2014 -- 15 season.

It's no wonder the Bulls were eager to snag the former NBA journeyman as their next boss.

His 4,092-square-foot home is just as big a score: "It's a beautiful house and a beautiful lot," says listing agent Gene Johnson of Hunziker & Associates Realtors.

The expansive backyard offers plenty of room for kids to explore -- and a landscaped fire pit for the grown-ups -- and the massive, winding staircase in the entryway will surely impress your guests.
