Now a Carolina Panther, NFL wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery is running a go route away from his mansion in Watchung, NJ.
Listed for $1.75 million, the mansion was Cotchery's home base when the soaring wideout rocketed to stardom with the New York Jets. The fourth-round pick spent a couple of seasons finding his footing in the National Football League, but he became a serious playmaker in 2006 when he hauled in 82 passes for Gang Green. After another stellar season with the Jets and signing a multiyear contract extension in 2007, Cotchery spent $1.6 million on the Watchung home in April 2008.
About a half-hour drive from the Jets facilities in Florham Park, NJ, the 14-room mansion is tastefully decorated and doesn't look much like a stereotypical jock pad, a fact noted by the New York Times in 2009: "His house, for all the expensive furniture, highlights none of his football exploits."
Listing agent Chris Joo says the "very upscale" home was highlighted by well-appointed upstairs bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom.
We'll guess Cotchery's 9,000-square-foot Jersey home will have no trouble scoring with a buyer looking for a luxury home with enormous upside.
