Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence told Coloradans on Wednesday that the presidential race did not offer the usual choice between a Republican and a Democrat.

Instead, the Indiana governor pitched it as a contest about whether to go up or down and said that the 2016 race is certainly "isn't one of those ordinary elections."

"This isn't really even a choice between left and right or Republican or Democrat," Pence said at a rodeo in Durango. "To me, as Ronald Reagan said back in 1964, this is a choice between up and down."

Pence proceeded to explain that the country could go downhill to a "weaker" America or turn around and climb uphill to a "stronger" America.
