Authorities are looking into two separate cases of blazes with 2016 overtones – the burning of a black church in Mississippi with the words “Vote Trump” spray-painted on the side, and the burning of a Trump sign in a Denver neighborhood.

According to The Clarion-Ledger, the FBI is working with other law enforcement partners to investigate the torching Tuesday of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, and “determine if any civil rights crimes were committed.”

Officials found the words “Vote Trump” spray-painted on the side of the building.

The blaze reportedly inflicted significant damage to the main sanctuary.

In a separate incident, a Trump sign was set on fire behind a Denver resident’s home.

According to CBS4, the flames quickly spread behind resident John Case’s property, but an officer happened to notice and joined quickly arriving fire crews to extinguish the blaze.

“We felt like it was a message to us because whoever did had to know we were home,” Case said, according to CBS4.
