Anonymous asks for help 'trolling' Islamic State

The hacking group Anonymous is asking people to "troll" the Islamic State on Friday as part of the "World against ISIS Project."

"We ask you to show your support and help against ISIS by joining us and trolling them," states a message on one of the group's websites. "Do not think you have to be apart [sic] of Anonymous, anyone can do this and does not require any special skills."

The message calls for readers to harass Islamic State members using social media by posting mocking photos of things like goats or dead Islamic State members, and hashtagging them "Daesh" or "Daeshbags." Daesh is the Arabic acronym for the group and is considered a pejorative term because it sounds like the Arabic word "to tread under foot." More tangible suggestions include printing those photos out and hanging them around local neighborhoods.
