Top Dems: Trump is emboldening 'little bitter people'

Top Democrats bashed Donald Trump Tuesday for his plan to ban foreign Muslims from entering the country.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said Trump's call for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States" has encouraged racists to gain a larger voice in public discourse.

"I'll tell you what does worry me … Ever since Trump has been opening his big mouth we're seeing all these little bitter people, latent racists, become emboldened. You're seeing some ugly stuff suddenly happening around the country," the Democratic presidential candidate Sanders told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Tuesday.
