House Speaker Paul Ryan promised to bring about change when he was elected last month, and according to his Instagram account, he already is when it comes to facial hair.

On Monday, Ryan took to social media to share a photo of his developing beard and added that he was "waiting on confirmation from the House Historian, but apparently, I'm the first Speaker to sport a beard in about 100 years."

The historian responded, adding that Frederick Gillett, who stepped down from the speakership in 1925, was the last one to sport a beard.
