Mitt Romney called President Obama's intentions to defeat the Islamic State "dissembling," according to a tweet he posted Monday.
The former Massachusetts governor and 2012 GOP presidential nominee said the U.S. needs a "winning strategy to replace current failure."
Earlier Monday, Romney appeared on NBC's "Today" show, where he bashed the president's tactics to defeat the Islamic State in Syria and warned of the consequences that will come out of the administration's failure to contain the terrorist group.
"We're going to see what happened in Paris, happen in the United States," Romney said.
His statements echoed remarks made Sunday that the White House must wage war to defeat the Islamic State, "not merely harass it."
