New York Mayor Bill de Blasio thinks Donald Trump's claim that Starbucks' newest holiday cups perpetuate the "war on Christmas" show that the GOP candidate "needs to get out more."

When the Seattle-based coffee giant unveiled its annual "red cups" earlier this month, the minimalist design appeared noticeably different from prior cups, which had snowflakes and Christmas ornaments surrounding the Starbucks logo.

"No more 'Merry Christmas' on Starbucks. No more," Trump told supporters in illinois earlier this week. He later suggested, "maybe we should boycott Starbucks."

"If I become president, we're all going to be saying 'Merry Christmas' again. That I can tell you," he added.
