Report: Pentagon weighs Guantanamo closure plan

Pentagon officials are soon expected to reveal an alternative location in Colorado for housing Guantanamo Bay prisoners after President Obama proceeds with a plan to close the prison, according to recent reports.

The government is considering the Colorado location as one of seven options as it moves to shutter the controversial prison, Fox News reported Saturday.

Obama and his allies have long argued for the closure of Guantanamo Bay, citing human rights concerns, among other issues. Many Republicans have voiced concerns that releasing the terrorism-linked inmates of Guantanamo could pose a threat to the homeland.

Obama's recent moves to transfer the prisoners to U.S. soil is sure to spark outrage among his critics.
