New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Wednesday that he won't sign a Republican letter demanding changes to the GOP debates for a very simple reason.

"Because it's stupid," Christie said when asked by Fox News.

"I mean, because put a podium up on a stage, stand me behind it, let some people ask me questions, and I will answer them," Christie said. "Listen, if you can't handle that [unfair debate moderators] then you shouldn't be running for president of the United States."

The Republican presidential campaigns drew up a detailed letter outlining specific demands and changes they want made to future debates following a meeting in Virginia last weekend. But Christie, and many others, will not sign the letter and have dismissed it out of hand.
