Joseph's Tomb shrine outside the West Bank was torched by Palestinian rioters last week, but it was restored Monday night over a five-hour period that was captured on film.
The incident was condemned by both Israeli leaders and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, and left the burial site of the biblical patriarch Joseph in the city of Nablus severely damaged.
Overnight on Monday, some 50 workers were accompanied by a detail of Israel Defense Force soldiers and repaired the damage in approximately five hours. As seen in video above, painters, metalworkers, electricians, gardeners and stoneworkers were able to clean, paint and replace the marble covering of the tomb in that time.
Palestinian officials had already carried out partial repairs of the tomb under orders of Nablus' Palestinian Authority governor, according to Army Radio. Settlement leaders and the Samaria Regional Council helped to finish the job.
