Donald Trump indicated Tuesday night that he's ready to be disappointed by Thursday's Benghazi hearing, because of new signs that it may not attack former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as much as he first thought.

Trump said on Fox News' "Hannity" that he was looking forward to the hearing, but then some Republicans came out and hinted the purpose of the committee was to bring down Clinton. After that, a former staffer made the same allegation.

"And then you had a whistleblower come out, so that hurt. That was not exactly positive," he added, a reference to Bradley Podliska, a former Republican investigator of the committee, who made public allegations that the committee is a ploy to hurt Clinton politically.

Since those events, Trump said he has seen a "big pivot" in the way that Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., is running the investigation.
