Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka joined CNN Wednesday for an interview about her father's presidential ambitions and his "inspiring" role in the campaign.

The pregnant mother of two, who introduced the real estate tycoon to a crowded room of supporters minutes before he announced his candidacy in mid-June, discussed her father's unexpected rise to the top of the Republican presidential field.

"I can speak from my vantage point as a child, and also from my vantage point as a colleague and somebody who works for him — he's been an amazing parent," Ivanka told CNN's Poppy Harlow. "He's given me every opportunity to succeed. He's loving and supportive. He's pushed me, he's corrected me, he's disciplined me. And I think as a parent now myself, I appreciate how hard that is, more than ever before."

"It's been amazing," she said of his presidential run. "He inspires thousands of people daily at the Trump organization, and I can say he'd be excellent as a president."

During an interview with Fortune Wednesday morning, Ivanka added, "I'm proud of him, but it's a very difficult thing to do. My father has achieved tremendous success and he's not a politician, but he's changing the dialogue and disrupting the process in a very meaningful way."
