Brit Hume told viewers on "Special Report with Bret Baier" Monday that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker needed to raise his game in order to have been a top contender in the 2016 Republican race.
"That image of a real fighter was not the character that we saw on the stump and particularly not the character we saw in the debates," Hume, Fox News’ senior political analyst, said.
At a Monday evening press conference, Walker announced: "I will suspend my campaign immediately. I encourage other Republican presidential candidates to consider doing the same, so that the voters can focus on a limited number of candidates who can offer a positive, conservative alternative to the current frontrunner," a reference to Donald Trump.
"The image of a real fighter was not the character that we saw on the stump,” Hume said.
