Huckabee is right: Obama's Iran deal would enable a second Holocaust

I've long been a critic of Mike Huckabee (as well as a skeptic about his chances in 2016), but I now feel compelled to come to his defense after the controversy he caused by making an accurate observation about President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran.

Huckabee came under fire after telling Breitbart News, "This president's foreign policy is the most feckless in American history. It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven."

I've already detailed the dangerous concessions that Obama made to Iran over the course of the nuclear deal. In short, the deal will unlock over $100 billion, which Iran can use to finance terrorist groups, including Iranian proxies Hamas and Hezbollah, which are committed to Israel's destruction. It will allow Iran to purchase conventional weapons and ballistic missiles, maintain thousands of centrifuges, improve its nuclear technology, build its economy through the removal of sanctions, give them at least 24 days to hide nuclear work from inspectors, and it will start to expire in 10 years. The bottom line is, even if Iran abides by the deal, in a little more than a decade, the regime could have a nuclear arsenal at its disposal.

The Iranian regime has consistently vowed to eliminate Israel, even as nuclear negotiations were ongoing. And the nuclear weapons that this deal will help Iranians to acquire would make that a realistic possibility. There are over 6 million Jews living in Israel, and a majority of the population lives on a narrow strip of land along the coast. Nuclear weapons in the hands of a terrorist regime represent a genuine existential threat.
