While the Senate was scrambling to hammer out its budget deal, President Obama was tending to other business on Wednesday -- meeting with the recently crowned Miss America.

Nina Davuluri, the first Indian-American to have won the coveted beauty pageant, met with the president Wednesday when she visited the White House.

"Had the pleasure of having a conversation with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office today!" Davuluri tweeted after meeting Obama.

Sixty-four-year-old record-breaking endurance swimmer Diana Nyad was also spotted entering the West Wing on Wednesday.

According to a tweet from White House AP reporter Josh Lederman, "entire White House press corps just scrambled, ran outside thinking there was news. Turns out it was Diana Nyad."

It's unclear if she met personally with Obama as well.
