Romney and GOP Best Obama and DNC in May Fundraising

Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee combined for a total of $76.8 million raised in the May, with $107 million in cash on hand.

Meanwhile President Obama and the Democratic National Committee raised a combined total of "more than $60 million" during the same time period.

This marks the first time the Republican presumptive nominee has trumped Obama and the Democrats in fundraising for an entire month. It's a significant increase for Romney and the GOP, after hauling in $40 million in April .

President Obama has done more than 150 fundraisers since officially filing for a candidate for re-election in April of 2011 and, along with the DNC has raised more than $500 million so far. Romney and the Republicans have raised about $480 million during the same time.
