ELKADER, Iowa - Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry blasted two of his GOP rivals for backing a bail out that he claims robbed the American people in ways this country has never seen before.

"The Wall Street bail out was the single greatest act of thievery in American history, and Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney were for it," Perry said during a campaign stop in Elkader, Iowa.

"That's what insiders do. They take care of each other, they protect the moneyed interest, and then they leave the tab to those of us in the middle class."

Perry is now barnstorming across the Hawkeye State and in the middle of a 42 city bus tour that he hopes will help him close the gap here with just a little more than two weeks before the caucuses.

The Gingrich campaign reacted to Perry's comments Monday afternoon. "Playing Monday morning quarterback doesn't mean you are leading the team," said Gingrich Spokesman R.C. Hammond.
