The Justice Department said Tuesday that Attorney General Eric Holder would welcome a meeting with families of 9/11 victims concerned that their phones may have been hacked by a British newspaper as part of a News Corp scandal that erupted in London, and is threatening to cross the Atlantic. News Corp is the parent company of Fox News.

Department of Justice spokesman Matthew Miller tells Fox News, "The attorney General has met with 9/11 family members on a number of occasions and would welcome the opportunity to meet with them to discuss any concerns they would like to bring to the Department's attention."

The FBI has begun an initial look into allegations of phone hacking by British newspapers to determine if any U.S. laws have been broken from overseas.
