Allen West Fires Intern Over Retweet

There are more twitter problems for a Member of Congress. Roll Call reports that on Friday Rep. Allen West's Twitter account read: "Very sorry about the unauthorized RT. We were not hacked, an intern made an error. Apologies to all."

The unauthorized retweet from the Florida Republican’s account was a tweet from the openly gay band Scissor Sisters.

The band tweeted: "Dear Tracy Morgan’s son: if you are gay, you can TOTALLY come live with me. We’ll read James Baldwin & watch Paris is Burning. xxANA"

West was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his staff and the interns were running the office.

An intern decided to retweet what the band had tweeted. The intern has since been fired.
